Located in Rowley, MA along Route 1A is a classic New England flea market now in it's 45th season. Todd Farm is open Sundays through November 26th.
This is the place to go to find odd things and inspiration for home projects. Vendors set up along rows out in the fields early in the morning. There is a barn with antiques and more permanent vendors inside and food available in another building.
My younger son, Sam, likes to join me for quick trips to the flea market in search of unusual finds. I go not knowing what I'm looking for and always find something unexpected. Sam found a garden squirrel sculpture last year. The little guy sits in the tall grass near a bench in our front garden.
Last year I picked up a mid century modern chair for $25.00. My talented friend Christina made new covers for the cushions from Sweetgum fabric. This is the chair featured on Sweetgum's website. The gorgeous photo shoot was done on location at the Essex Ship Building Museum (to be covered in another blog post later) by another friend Cynthia of Cynthia August photography.
I would suggest going early when visiting Todd Farm.... and bring extra cash for that unexpected find.
